"Touch seems to be as essential as sunlight" Human connection is essential. It's possible to be happy alone but I believe a large part of our happiness is based purely off our relationships with others; how they make us feel, inside and out. A simple touch of the skin can resonate with someone for days, weeks, even months. Being touched, even if its just a hand to hold, can be the hope a person needs and can give them the strength to keep moving forward. This sentence resonated with me because touch really is like sunlight, and just like plant, we need it to be really, fully, happy.

Identity Don't Let Your Clothes Wear You Young girls growing up are forced to face the harsh pressures of impossible beauty standards and as a result can develop devastating insecurities about themselves. Struggling with my weight as I grew up, I would constantly wear large clothes that engulfed me as a result of constantly feeling insecure about my weight because I didn't think I fit the ideal standard of "beautiful" which as the time I figured meant skinny. I named this piece "Don't Let Your Clothes Wear You" as it is a reminder to never let your insecurities allow you to hide parts of yourself, because all of your parts are beautiful.

Floating Architecture Stucco Today This piece is named "Stucco Today" to express the elements and styles of the past combining with those of the present. Implementing my own version of older materials such as stucco and having the style of two very different time periods being mixed together allowed this piece to be created with ease. Modern 1900-Present ( top left)t: https://www.e-architect.co.uk/modern-houses I used the same elements of structure as well as stacking/layering to imply modernistic characteristics Ancient Mediterranean (bottom left): https://gohighbrow.com/ancient-mediterranean-architecture/ I used the patterns and rounded curves of ancient mediterranean as inspiration for this piece as well as the stucco material often used during this time. I represented this stucco by mixing sand and white paint.
